CLUB MEETING & DANCE NEWS

The MT. BAKER SINGLES held their election of club officers for the 2017-18 season on March 10 before their dance.  The membership re-elected Gini Johnson as president, John and Candy Johnson as V.P., Brenda Blanchette as secretary and Vikki Royal as treasurer.  Many thanks to these folks for leading us again.

Dave was sick (lost his voice) so there was no “a-live sound” for our club’s “33rd Anniversary Dance”.  (Note: Their “a-live sound” will be offered at our June 9 dance.)  Fortunately we were able to have Ray Gallagher fill in.  Our dance was well attended with two formal caravans from the Happy Hoppers and Rainbow Squares and some impromptu caravans from local clubs.  It was a nice crowd of about 75!

CLUB DUES ARE DUE!!!

Mt. Baker Singles’ club dues are due at the April 14 dance. (Deadline April 30).  Treasurer Vikki Royal will accept your $15 at the April dance or any Tuesday evening.  If Vikki is not available on Tuesday evenings, see John Hayes who assists her.  Family dues are $30.

If these options are not convenient, mail your dues to Vikki at 301 N. Skagit Street, Burlington, WA 98233.

CARAVAN TO FREEWHEELERS – APRIL 2

The Mt. Baker Singles will travel to the Freewheelers on April 2 to enjoy their “April Showers” Dance.  Dancing starts at 7 pm with Roger Spiese calling and Debbie Taylor cueing.  They dance at the Mountlake Terrance Community Senior Center at 23000 Lakeview Drive, Mountlake Terrance 98043.  We’ll carpool and plan to leave behind Key Bank at 6 pm sharp. Let’s have at least 8 of us attend and borrow their club banner.  They plan to visit us in June for our dance.

TUESDAY EVENING DANCING FOR ALL – APRIL 4

Our Tuesday evening beginners program continues to start at 7 pm with Dave Harry teaching and calling.  We have a good group of new dancers and many angels to make it a lot of fun.  They are over half way through the mainstream program so come and serve as angels.

The MT. BAKER SINGLES caravan to the Fern Bluff Squares for their “12th Anniversary Dance” on April 8.  They dance at the South Lake Stevens Grange at 2109 103rd Avenue SE, Lake Stevens.  The evening starts at 7:30 pm with Linda Nold cueing pre-rounds.  Square dancing begins at 8:00 pm with caller Ray Gallagher. Our club will meet at our usual spot behind Key Bank on College Way in the large parking lot at 7:00 pm to carpool.  Call John Hayes at 360-424-4608 if you are interested in a ride.
